Internet to the Hogans

Internet to the Hogans is a project initiated by State Senator Leonard Tsosie to develop and deploy the technical components required to bring high-speed Internet, HDTV, and full telephone service to the entire Navajo Nation. Under Senator Tsosie’s leadership, a unique grouping of representatives from the public sector, private industry, education, and non-profit and philanthropic organizations is working collaboratively to make this project a reality.

As an integral part of the project, the New Mexico State Library is developing a Digital Archive of documents and other materials of interest and relevance to the Navajo people. These digitized materials are available in the English and where available the Navajo language. As it grows, this Digital Archive will become a repository of documents of interest to Native people across New Mexico. Currently a wide range of subjects is covered here, including: on-line books describing aspects of traditional culture, government reports, and dockets before various regulatory commissions.
